The National Career Development Association (NCDA) is a division of the American Counseling Association (ACA). The mission of NCDA is to promote the career development of all people over the life span. To achieve this mission, NCDA provides service to the public and professionals involved with or interested in career development, including professional development activities, publications, research, public information, professional standards, advocacy, and recognition for achievement and service.

California Career Development Association
The California Career Development Association (CCDA) is a professional organization whose membership is inclusive of ALL career development service providers, including counselors, educators, technicians, paraprofessionals, business professionals, and graduate students. The CCDA community represents a wide array of settings, including education, private practice, business, public agencies, and private institutions. CCDA is a division of the California Association for Counseling and Development (CACD), and is a state chapter of the National Career Development Association (NCDA). CACD is a branch of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and NCDA is a division of ACA.

The California Registry of Professional Counselors and Paraprofessionals
Establishes and maintains statewide standards of practice for: Registered Professional Counselors (RPCs) and Registered Career Paraprofessionals (RCPs) under the auspices of the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION for COUNSELING and DEVELOPMENT EDUCATION FOUNDATION.

The National Board for Certified Counselors
The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) developed the first general practice counseling credential that was national in scope. NBCC began credentialing National Certified Counselors (NCCs) in 1983. Currently, more than 36,785 mental health professionals throughout the United States and in over 40 other countries hold this voluntary professional credential. Although the NCC credential isn't required for independent practice and is not a substitute for the legislated state credentials, those who hold the credential appreciate the opportunity to demonstrate that they have met national standards developed by counselors, not legislators.

John F. Kennedy University, School of Management
Norm serves as an adjunct faculty member, Masters Program/Career Counseling at the School of Management. In April 2001, John F. Kennedy University's School of Management was awarded full accreditation for ten years by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).

San Francisco State University, School of Health and Human Services
Norm serves as an adjunct faculty member, Masters Program/Career Counseling of the Department of Counseling. The primary purpose of the Department of Counseling is to train professional, competent, culturally sensitive counselors. Towards this end we emphasize skill development, a strong conceptual base, an ethical orientation, a sensitivity to ethnic-cultural differences, as well as a focus upon personal awareness and growth.
